Career Information
Rizqi Prasya is a Research Associate at the Department of Media Studies and Communication at MLU Halle-Wittenberg. Prasya completed her master's degree at MLU Halle-Wittenberg in 2023. For her master's thesis, she conducted a mixed-methods study, where she used ethnographic and text-analytical methods to examine the production of submission materials for an Indonesian advertising award show and analyze the process she refers to as "award-making". Her interest in the advertising scene is grounded by her proximity to the industry: from 2012 to 2019, she worked as a copywriter for various local and multinational advertising agencies in Indonesia and Malaysia, where she produced campaigns for local and international clients. For her Bachelor's degree, she studied Communication Science with a focus on Creative Advertising at Universitas Paramadina in Jakarta, Indonesia. Her interest in media work and media production cultures extends beyond the advertising field. She is currently contributing as a Research Assistant on a study investigating compensation models in music streaming, conducted in the Digital Culture Research Network. Her ongoing dissertation project also concerns this media sector, with the topic „Non-Disclosure Culture in the Music Industry.“
